My Training
After my initial Massage Therapist School at the US Career Institute in July of 2016, I spent a month in Fort Collins Colorado for 200 hours of hands-on training. On November 17, 2016, I became a certified massage therapist.
I studied for the national board, and tested (and passed!) in January of 2017.
I filed my paperwork with the State of Montana and got my massage license on March 17, 2017.
My first job was at Massage Envy where I logged over 1000 hours of massage.
In June 2018, through the LMT Success Group, I went to Vegas for a week long training to become a Medical Massage Practitioner.
In October of 2018, I took the Claire Marie Miller pregnancy and postpartum massage certification class.
My continued education courses consist of:
-
Oncology Massage Therapy
-
Military Veterans and Massage Therapy
-
Fibromyalgia
-
PTSD Bodywork
-
Self-Care Body Mechanics
-
Self-Care Injury Prevention
-
Hot Stone Massage
-
Total Body Stretch
My Approach
My very first exposure to massage was as a client. Having injured myself during my sport of choice (running), and struggling to find a healing solution that fit my lifestyle and philosophy (NO SURGERY), I found myself turning to more holistic solutions.
Little did I know that the healing I experienced would impact me so much that I would change my entire career in order to share with others what had done so much good for me.
In my own massage practice, I focus on communication. I set goals with clients before the appointment, check in during the appointment in regards to pressure, and follow up the day after so that I can provide the most comprehensive service possible.
